It’s been a busy fortnight, especially for the one who’s supposed to be writing game reports each week. Two more games have been played and those battling for the top of the league are becoming ever closer in their quest. I recently christened Sean „Mr Consistent”, but now suddenly, not one, but two more players are staking their claim for that title.
Winner! Winner! Steak dinner?
The first, Tom, has been in the top few places all year. With his win last week he’s reclaimed 2nd place, but more importantly is now a mere 4 points off the lead. Not for the first time, he recently informed me that he’ll be winning this week’s game as well, though such confidence doesn’t always work out as intended.
The second is Janne, who narrowly missed a hat-trick of victories (but still made 2nd place last week) to score a fabulous 20 points from a maximum of 24 in the last 3 games. This translates to a meteoric rise to 3rd in the league, just 7 points off the top spot. It was a great performance that still grates (I got KO’d with pocket Qs by Janne’s K7). This is a coin toss, but now might be time to order some Shark Finn Soup.
There’s obviously still a long way to go, but the competition for points is definitely heating up. As the lottery advert goes, you’ve got to be in it to win it, so hopefully we’ll see a lot more joining the race for the title in the weeks ahead. Good luck to all y’all.
